Cycling in Corsica

2012 was quite a remarkable year for us.  It began on a very sad and difficult note, with the passing of Shellie’s mom, Barbara in January.  Her dad, Alvin, was comforted by family visiting from Ohio, Maryland and Colorado, and by an outpouring of support from New Jersey friends who rallied round to see him through this difficult period.  He and Barbara would have celebrated their 60th anniversary in June.

Al and Shellie went real estate shopping in Arizona and found his new winter home in Pebble Creek, an active retirement community in Goodyear, just west of Phoenix.  Al is making new friends there very quickly through his pool club and has begun to work out regularly at the gym.  He’s been painting and framing in his home studio there, and is looking forward to reuniting with his NJ friends when he returns for the summer.

Milton and Shellie jerseys from China were able to continue quenching their thirst for travel with a spring cycling tour of Sardinia and Corsica, preceded by a few days on Italy’s Amalfi Coast and wrapping with a weekend in Paris.  We also celebrated Milton’s 65th birthday this fall with a 6-week trip DownUnder.  We spent 3 wks in Australia, notably the Great Barrier Reef (yes, we dove!), the Daintree Rainforest, and 5 days in a splendid Circular Quay apartment on the harbour in Sydney.  The next 3 wks was for New Zealand– a 2-wk active tour of the South Island, hiking, mountain biking and sea kayaking some of wholesale nfl jerseys China the most beautiful scenery outside of Colorado.  Another week on the North Island was highlighted by Cape Kidnappers on Hawkes’ Bay– a particularly luxurious treat, and we thoroughly enjoyed  the golf course there!

With NJ and AZ trips to help with Al’s winter move, a Cozumel dive trip for Milton’s open water certification and a week in AZ with Shellie’s family for Christmas, we were only home for 4 wks between August and the end of December.  So we are really excited to be back at home now, with snow falling and most of our favorite ski runs open.

We are hoping for a great ski season this year, a final fix for the fiscal cliff, and much health and happiness to all of our friends and family.
